Beginning piano students start as a small class that progresses to partner lessons or private study. Taught by Kay Barlow, the approach to learning how to play the piano is traditional / classical with emphasis placed on accuracy of reading music notation, piano playing technique, interpretation, repertoire and musicality.
Studying piano is considered a 30 week commitment. Lessons are organized into 3 semesters of 10 weeks each, September through May. Each semester concludes with a public recital. A short summer semester during the month of July is optional.
